Biography Of A Female Artist Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

Biography Of A Female Artist

Everyone knows-
to build her career she left her family:
as we all know that the sun is born in the east.

Upon asking, she gave me some hints-
fragrance of rose spreads in all directions:
thorns have nothing to do with it.

'My family went against me because of my fame.
I was misjudged, rather distrusted.
I was forced to leave.
I wish to stay alone forever.
That's all...'.

Ripples wash away mud and dust on river bank.

'I was defamed.
I was cheated, forced to live with another.
I want to stop...'.

Waves wash away sandstone and sand dunes.
