Birds In Their Comfort Zone Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Birds In Their Comfort Zone

Birds in their comfort zone
Thrived through this winter
Unshaken by the drops
Unshaken by the winds
And rasping undercurrents where
The half-crunched leaves
They sang in winter too
Yet
They plot to combine
Flying with chirping with the first breathings of the Spring
And the increased running of the water mill
And the high leaps in azure skies
And the sweet scents of the nocturnal mists
And the accelerated stirring of the day
And the filling of the Womb of a new Spring!
