Birthday Wish From Sharry - Poem by Walter Miring'u Nyagah

Yes you have trodden the long path,
Sixteen years of life's cruel wrath,
It all seems like just the other day,
When we'd sit and watch you play.

I guess age is just a number,
You're now older but not put to slumber,
One thing my dear I know for sure,
Yours is a bright future if your mind stays pure.

Growth comes along with responsibility,
Maturity, Beauty and Ability,
Able to achieve what your mind conceives,
Or follow what excitement deceives.

Whichever way things go,
Always know I love you so,
I won't judge you when you fall,
But be here through it all.

At this point I must proudly say,
To you I wish a happy birthday!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem was composed by my girlfriend as a birthday wish poem to me.
Her name is Sharry just as the title states. She is very talented and simple as you can see...I could not help but post it here! Thanks so much Sharon!
