Bitch Please Poem by Melody McKinstrie

Bitch Please

Bitch Please
(A Poem for my Wonderful niece who I love dearly)

Christina Marie is one of my nieces
And while she is a scatter brain
I love her to pieces.
I love her spunk
I love her fire.
I love that she speaks her mind
And sometimes for hours.

She is a hard nut to crack,
She is presently pregnant.
She talks of her yet to be born child
As her little peanut.

As anyone who knows her,
Knows she has no filter.
Sometimes that can be quite the bother
And sometimes it can land her in quite
The hot water.

She has had a hard time of things
In her short life of twenty years.
She had wanted to have a limo party
For her 21st birthday.
But being pregnant has put that on hold
Having a baby may put a damper on that
But the child on its way will have much love,
As Christina and her fiance Moses
Have longed for one of their own.

It is true that Christina is young
But some would say she has an old soul
She does not suffer fools gladly
She calls out hypocrisy
Sometimes she is mistaken
And offers an apology.
Other times she puts up her hand
And says "Bitch, Please! "
When someone attacks her.

Yes my niece Christina,
Is some kind of fighter,
She has yet to win a prize for this trait.
But to those who know her,
Would have her in their corner,
Any day.

I am looking forward to seeing Christina
As a mother,
I imagine her like a lioness with her cub,
So protective
So fiercely loyal
Ready to tear a predator to shreds.

Christina as a little girl
Was so adorable,
She had silky fine hair
That was a shade of blonde,
She overheard us speaking of it
Referring to as dirty blonde
To which she replied
"No I do not! I have clean blonde hair! "
Such outspokenness a sign of things to come.

She had little blue eyes,
That were slightly upturned,
I referred to her as a
Cabbage Patch Doll.
That is how I will always remember Christina
No matter how old.

So while Christina may want a son,
I want to see her with a daughter,
I want another little cabbage patch doll to hug
I want a little version of my darling Christina.
Someone who makes me laugh
Someone who tells it like it is.
And someone who can go toe to toe
With Christina in a verbal wrestling match.
Someone who would eventually say
"Mom, you shouldn't swear! "
To which Christina would probably
Have the forbearance to never say
To her daughter,
"Bitch, please.! "

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Christina now has three children. Two girls and a boy. They are all so adorable. I can hardly stand it. :)
