Puffin Love

Let's be like puffins
Let's love like birds.
...

Filling The Void Of Silence

There is a void
I try to fill
...

Blinking Eyes

Time did not fly,
It just passed
...

I was with her when the clock struck twelve,
It meant that my sister's birthday
Was underway.
We were drinking.
...

A friend said civilization is ending.
Brick by brick.
Life by life.
Soul by soul.
...

When I see a black and white child hugging
I think of them as little soldiers of peace.
Much like white doves are a symbol
Mixed race children hugging and playing
...

Bitch Please
(A Poem for my Wonderful niece who I love dearly)

Christina Marie is one of my nieces
...

Some days you just feel blah,
Like the day should just go by
Hoping tomorrow will be better
Or at least the blah feeling
...

Playground Memories

When I see a playground
I get overcome with memories
...

I could try to reinvent the wheel.
But would that not be just futile?
I could say my love is brand new.
And indeed that would be true.
...

I gave up
And I gave in
I should have sought
My better angels
...

We have been told
To look up to the sky
That heaven is up there
Where our departed
...

Names on a wall
Men and women
Who paid with their lives
To fight for our rights.
...

I will play with fire
Those matches
And their spark
I will see what
...

What can I say
That has not already been said?
I once was your love
But now that love is gone
...

We have been told,
By many a person
We have been sold
On the notion
...

How sweet is he
That compliments me?
He gives me praise
He eases my mind,
...

The time of my life,
It was what I had to spend.
I spent it taking care
Of various things.
...

I am not the fairy tale type
I am more like Rip Van Winkle,
My slumber does not lead to a Prince Charming,
It just leads to nostalgic sadness.
...

What shall we overcome today?
We shall overcome the feeling of sleep,
Break free from it's hold.
Be strong and let go.

Puffin Love

Puffin Love

Let's be like puffins
Let's love like birds.
With their quaint way
Of kissing
By tapping their bills
For this we can use
Our human version.
As tapping our noses
Might begin to hurt.

Let's frolic on
A beautiful meadow
That adorns the cliffs
Above the ocean.
Shuffling like puffins
Or we can just walk
Along the water's edge
At the beach.
With the same back
And forth bumping
Into the other.
How funny we will look
Like weebles wobbling.
People will surely wonder
If we were intoxicated!

Would that be far off?
We are indeed
Intoxicated with love!
So much so
We are ready to settle down
And make a nest.
Ah puffin love
At it's best!
In our case
We might talk
About moving in
With one another
Or even marriage.

Not everyone can be
Like the Puffin.
Not everyone has the capacity
For exclusivity
Not everyone has that
Idea ingrained
That they have one true love.
But for those that do
Life with their partner
Seems like a dream come true!
A reality that makes life
Nearly heaven on earth.
