Better Angels, Outcomes And Endings Poem by Melody McKinstrie

Better Angels, Outcomes And Endings

Rating: 3.5

I gave up
And I gave in
I should have sought
My better angels
Instead I succumbed
To my inner demons.

I should have fought
To have better outcomes.
Instead I wallowed
In my losses
And what escaped me
And made me lose
Any progress
I had made.

You don't know me.
You might think you do.
So many judge
But they are unwilling
To walk in my shoes.
They lack the compassion
And empathy
That it takes to even try
To understand.

Does this seem
Like it needs a better ending?
So many things
Could be so described.
I hope I get mine.
I hope I get mine.
