Bitter Cold Poem by Alexander Romanov

Bitter Cold

Bitter cold
Quietly seeps through the ground
Covering under snowdrift blankets
All those
Who will never make a sound

Time's inevitable crawl
Never turns back
The broken wire of life
Finally cracks

When the soul cries
In a minute of silence
eternity dies
Silently the seconds melt
and in a white blizzard
The buried soul lies

Where do moments fly
Like birds to warm destinations
Taking with them, life's interpretations
Leaving behind grey paths
And a question, why?

Let the wind blow
Only he understands
Everything passes
and this will pass
A souls cries
And in this moment of eternity
Silence lies

The wind of time
blows through the years
And bitter cold
Will meet us here
Let the wind blow
Away our tears
Time's constant flow
Tears us apart
And bitter cold
Seeps into the heart

Having things to say
We drown in silence
In this world, it's hard to live
And dying is always defiance

Seconds fly
Never to return again
The wind blows
Away these crumbled sheets
With the last dregs of my soul
To where this all began
In these empty streets

Ashes fill the sky
And waltz with dust of time
To grasp what life is
Takes an eternity
For the meaning is sublime

The soul is empty
What meaning can suffice?
The scared heart burns inside
A sculpture of ice

I soil my ink
with sheets of paper
Gunshots of truth
don't make me waver
This life
No longer has a taste
And in my heart
lies a frozen waste

The wind of time
blows through the years
And bitter cold
Will meet us here
Let the wind blow
Away our tears
Time's constant flow
Tears us apart
And bitter cold
Seeps into the heart...
