Black Are The Screams Poem by Sandra Osborne

Black Are The Screams

Black is the night,
The darkness I fear.
And black are the screams,
From the echoes I hear.

No moon in the sky,
The stars are not out.
And black are the screams,
I hear myself shout.

I can’t see my way,
The blackness surrounds.
And black are the screams,
Suffocating, I drown.

And death is the end,
That the blackening brings.
And black are the screams,
From its pain and its sting.
