RIC S. BASTASA

Black Bird Singing - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

a black bird flies on top of the house
and perches upon a tree
fronting it

i stand by the window
looking at the scenery of sea and sand
and alternating rustic fronds
pine trees and grass

the black bird begins to sing
asking for attention
then we see each other eye to eye

it is i who blink first.
