Black Days Poem by Miklos Balogh

Black Days

Did you loose your job?
Can you find the reasoning too weak?
How do you tell your children; they will not have bread tomorrow morning!
You have nowhere to hide.
When you look into the mirror, you feel surrounded by emptiness.

You think you are alone
In the dark -without relations and friends-
In the dark, you think you are alone.

The emptiness looks at you from the mirror.
It believes it has future!
Unlike you - you have no tomorrow-
You are child of forgotten promises.
I pity you.

You are my soul mirror; my eternal confusion; my shadow in the darkest of the nights.
Your bright shadow is black light without borders.
You are my harmonised revolution

You search for that forbidden summit, somewhere, in that far-away land
You should dive deep instead into the dreams of ocean
Look for the shades of purified lights
Holding my hand like ancient vine
Whispering the hymn of a better tomorrow
