Black Raven Poem by Ana Monnar

Black Raven

Rating: 5.0

My heart is held hostage
Seeking refuge in safe haven
Fallen leaf from the maple foliage
Perching on a branch is a Black Raven
I sit and watch from the windowpane
Sheet of glass so clear and visible
Feeling my heart carrying a ball and chain
For now I am indivisible
In future quest I will relive
Experience again sweet loving tenderness
Companionship and a great friend
By the deep forest’s wilderness
If you have ever been in a position like mine,
you might comprehend
Black Raven fly freely
With time - problems will disappear ideally

A very strong poem that contains great imagery and very poetic language. Although, it is a shame that this poem lacks punctuation; as this poem would be an excellent poem to read aloud. But, nevertheless, a great read regardless.

You are a fine imagist. I like what you see from your window on the world. Write on, Ana. Warmest regards, Sandra
