I write my deepest confession

Who knows?
I have spent too long hating myself
Hating myself for not being enough
Not being funny enough
Nor serious enough
Not being confident enough
Whilst being belittled at every turn
For not smiling enough
For not crying at the right time
Hundreds more, too many to count
I guess I just never figured it out
Why at such a young age
I managed to bring out the worst
The worst in people of whom I expected more
More love
More care
More trust
