Blessing Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Blessing

Blessing

In old days I was child and then young
Elderly and parents tapped shoulder
Wishing well, prayers, sought bless:
"At old age have the best."

Open eyes in building; look around
Then on roads, in the bus, hospital
See people and myself in age pains
I leap deep into time; become child
Muscular in smiles, become young
Feeling hand on shoulder, and bless.

Lower head in return; and ashamed:
"They were right, we were dumb,
To have laughed."
