Blind Poem by joe mannion

Blind

I once was blind but now can see,
all my blind friends envy me.
I see the sun, the moon and star,
whilst they still wonder what they are.

I prayed to God to give me sight,
I never dreamed i'd lose the light.
I always thought he'd walk with me,
although he gave me eyes to see.

I see the sun but not the light,
that brilliant light that burned so bright.
when I was blind and could not see,
I always felt him close to me.

He had my eyes, I was above,
I got them back and lost his love.
Now I see the world he made,
but was it worth the price I paid?
