Blind Poem by Jennifer Rose

Blind

Does no one see
the broken child?
The one that shows
up Monday morning?
The one with a
pair of quiveing lips?
Bruises on her arms?
The pain in her eyes?
Then you find out
what's really going on.
Friday she is sent
home with another note.
Telling the parents she
doesn't have proper
weather clothing.
She recieves a smack
on the face.
She was not wanted.
Monday she is home sick.
Tuesday she is still sick.
Wednesday, she is found dead.
Her parents were put in prison.
Why were you so blind?
