Blind Sight - Poem by Kelly Kurt

Ego meets, interacts and lives visually
The sighted, experience their world
Their selves
Through open eyes
All reality seems external
Outside the self
Closed eyes open consciousness
Isolate to the ultimate degree
With yourself
Darkened silence awakens the inner voice
If you listen, it is the subjective identity
A narration with no agenda
An opportunity to meet the real you

Some people dream of going to Paris. I only wish to enjoy a garden. Let the rest of the world fall away.........10 (or perhaps 99.5) (Report) Reply

A poem of great philosophic thoughts, what we see by closed eyes we cannot see by our open eyes. A moon of outer visions don't give an opportunity to the inner visions of of a dim and distant star. (Report) Reply

Thank you my friend. I spend between 94 - 99.5% of my time alone. Much of that time in silence. I hear my inner dialogue quite often, but when I close my eyes, I am in the true realm of 'me.' Those thoughts are analyzed and are sometimes the inspiration for my poetry.

I hope you take something good away from meeting yourself. Many people use meditation to completely clear the mind, but clearing only the conscious mind from sensory input (closing your eyes in silence) and allowing the inner narrative to take over can be revelatory. Quite often, I will ask myself; why did I just think that? Such is the nature of thought. You don't think about thinking a thought, it just happens.
