Blissful Ignorance Poem by Joi Heart

Blissful Ignorance

He was my world
And I the universe
Our love ran deeper then my tears.

But the life we had
Was nothing but a lie
And my cuts run
Deeper with each tear

The blissful tone of your words
Telling me that you care
You pierced a dagger right threw my chest
And my heart was yours to tear.

Into pieces I laid on the floor
Worn and torn inside out
The pulse threw my veins and the thoughts in my head
Is now always going to be in doubt.

My blood runs thin which each stitch you mend
In my eyes even doves cry
I only saw your back from while you were walking away
As you screamed you wanted me to die.

You walked back to me and held me close
Letting me think there was no more rain
Then you let go and just replied
“You’re just so pretty in you pain.”
