Blood In The Streets A Mother Weeps Poem by Herbert Dry

Blood In The Streets A Mother Weeps

Evil thoughts locked away the cruelty of men
on display
City streets screams of night at the curb our
children lay

Blood running from open
wounds
Our children slaughtered before
life blooms

Their life drained on city
streets
Into their homes people
retreat

It matters not gun or
knife
Our children are murdered
in the night

Cries of pain echoing under city
lights
Gang members gather so they can
fight

In darkness of night mothers
cry
She holds him close in her arms
he dies

The darkness of night is not the
reason why
The darkness in evil hearts is the reason
our children die
