Blooming Change (Inspired By Passionflower - Jon Gomm) Poem by Elijah Reed

Blooming Change (Inspired By Passionflower - Jon Gomm)

Locked into your emotional prison cell,
With bars constructed from old abuse of alcohol.
Chains made of past emotions and regret,
You're put away until you can forget it all.
Not ready to face your life again,
They force you out without any remorse.
You have a hard time living free with them,
Problems are always building up within.
Memories of what you used to be,
They flood your mind and make you lose control.
You drop your feelings into words to share,
And someone notices you fall.
She picks you up, dusts you off for then,
She helps build a path there through it all.
You realise you let her have your burden then,
And guilt drops inside your gut.
You try to take your life back again,
Because it's your, not hers to bear.
Why did she have to help me then,
When no body could even accept what I really am.
But I'm glad someone helped me see how much I've changed.
I owe my new self to her, she brought out the best of me.
I'm here to stay, if she wants me. I hope she does.
