Blue Spark Poem by Subhojit Kar

Blue Spark

Rating: 4.0

Blue Spark you ended me.
I sat on the electric chair
to worship you
and you pressed the switch
that electrocuted me.

Now you see me,
the walking, talking corpse
with dead-fish eyes.
Nights of bitter search alone,
Swimming in the alcoholic whirlpool
of my Epiphany,
my once-in-a-lifetime vision
and smoking the joint
of your ice-pick-sharp derision

And your blue current
that passed through me
is dancing in my head
as I see you smiling, flirting
with the achievers, the successes
while I rot alone in my dark vault- -
it's worms and maggots all over me.

The green grass that you so disdainfully
trample beneath your feet,
they grow from my flesh and bones
as I lie in my grave
restless and undead
in the soft earth below,
the morning dew on them
the teardrops I shed for you.

See the wild flowers blooming
in their multicolored radiance
they are the mementos
on the postcards of passion
I could never send you.

Blue Spark, have a flying time
with boys, with hunks, with men
But don't kill another one
with your silken current.

The color blue signifies the Divine and life to me. It's ironic that you associate it with death in my opinion. However the imagery in the poem is good where you write and associate a blue spark with an electrict current.

I would like you to give your honest opinion on this. Sorry, if it sounds somewhat maudlin.
