Your love should be a home where she
Can always comfortably abide;
Let her feel safe when by your side -
Be a shield for her privacy.
Shelter her with chivalry
If you would have her be your bride;
Love is the haven you provide
With kindness for a canopy.
Love is no mere infatuation
Or façade of strong emotion
Time and change may soon deface;
Love has a far more deep foundation
In the bedrock of devotion -
For a lifelong dwelling place.
