Clearing The Air Poem by Keith Balser

Clearing The Air

Don't let desire's smoky haze
Obscure devotion's crystal light;
In giving her your glowing praise,
Make every ardent line you write
Reflect a love that's heavenly:
Let pure unclouded kindness be
Mellow like honey-golden noonlight,
Mild like cream-white midnight moonlight;
Let romantic poetry
Be luminous with loyalty.
Your warm desire to hold her tight
Need not flare up in every phrase;
Like stars that grace a quiet night,
Desires lit by love will shine, not blaze.
