Bonfire Blazes Brightest In Deepest Darkness Poem by Terence George Craddock

Bonfire Blazes Brightest In Deepest Darkness

at night
if you like
as darkness

silent comes creeping

gather up
armfuls
of darkness

shadow leaves

built a bonfire
later much later
when deepest darkness

silent has fallen

when myriads
of diamond stars
twinkle magical

in starlight night

light a bonfire
in tribute to countless
writers poets artists

time haunting artists

let the blaze
of their glory burning
thrill light

up night sky

artists may become
season timeless pages
of burning leaves

burning leaves

burning leaves burning
in iron torch beacon
embedded in the rocks

night cloaks mysteries timeless

leaves burning in autumn darkness
cannot illuminate beach countless
wind swept sands hidden in darkness

who counts sands of time
