Boogieman Epitomized Poem by Cooper Gilliland

Boogieman Epitomized

Horrible smile spot-welded in place
Beneath the cowl that hides his face.
Searing eyes peer out of the dark,
As in your heart ignites a spark.

Gutless fear caresses your spine
At the words he whispers, 'Forever you're mine.'
You seek only to escape this fate
But your mind screams, 'Oh God! Too late! '

Still try to keep your feet on the ground
For all to soon they will be heaven bound
When his jovial laugh tears at your ears.
Nightmare in waking, this now living fear.

That evil grin fills your sight
With horror as your life takes flight,
Filled with malice and hideous grey
As he pulls you apart and lifts you away.
