A row of masks of make-believe
While hiding, trying not to find
The me that no one likes.

The darkness that binds
this heart in my chest
is living and breathing,
evil at rest.

What darkness closes in to steal your breath?
In anger, when love's sweet refrain is gone
And talk turns from lightheartedness to death
As Time, that cleaver thief, robs our years to pawn.

Decaying towers of steel
Reach with crooked spires for the heavens.
A hollow and broken shell
Of bones, torn wide for the scavengers.

Horrible smile spot-welded in place
Beneath the cowl that hides his face.
Searing eyes peer out of the dark,
As in your heart ignites a spark.

The reddest rose is the sharpest thorn
Beauty hides a blackened heart.
In this forever I'm deeply torn
While false memories fall apart.

Whisper Secrets- morbidly-
Believe you tell them true
The Lies were never yours to tell-
And yet you tell them still
