Book Poem by Crystal Floyd

Book

Rating: 5.0

What could you make
of a book with no words?

Now a book with no words, now that sounds absurd!

Because everybody has heard of a song with no words,

But nobody has heard
of a book with no words.

Maybe it is because
there is no one to read it.

And that of course means that it is hard to believe it.

‘Cause nobody really can actually read it,

Just put the book down,
and decide to just leave it.

Yet people still find the book is too hard to put down,

But flip through the pages
And still you gotta frown.

Hunting for clues, like a hungry bloodhound,

Then angrily throw the book down to the ground.

Then somebody picks the book up yet again,

And flicks through the pages to see just the same,

That the book hasn't got any words to its name.

By now it is driving some people insane.

But who on this earth could have wrote such a book?

Just think of the thought and the effort it took.

All writers would kill for a line that will hook.

But this one did that with no words in his book!

So how does one know what to read on its page?

The Book without Words comes with no content page.

But don't let this fact try to rattle your cage.

Let's try to find meaning, on every blank page.

Clearly this book has a meaning of such.

Without any words, it can't say very much.

It isn't in Braille, ‘cause there's nothing to touch.

So can anyone find a new clue we can trust?

Perhaps it was made with invisible ink.

A book that's intended for spy's do you think.

But even a spy cannot find any ink.

Could someone please pass me, a very strong drink!

Maybe the book isn't meant to be red.

Maybe the words are in everyone's head.

If that is so, then it has to be said.

That everyone chooses their own words instead.

So that's what you make of a book without words

You read what you want, of your very own words.

A book without words is no longer absurd.
