Boston Marathon Enough Already! What About Women In The Military? Poem by Luke Easter

Boston Marathon Enough Already! What About Women In The Military?

Starting 2014 The Boston Marathon could be covered by Drones,
But who will cover female military personnel when left all alone,
By superior staffers who repeatedly intimidate and sexually abuse,
Great for Boston so when will women soldiers get such good news?

Well over $20 million has been raised for those victims of the attack,
While 20,000+ women in the Armed Forces are forced on their back,
And this is not a onetime occurrence it’s a yearly occurring disgrace,
Not to mention shame/embarrassment daily seeing their attacker’s face.

Because unlike Boston there is no need to hunt or track down the guilty,
They’re on the job & no matter how many showers victims still feel filthy,
Physically and mentally whereas daily the perpetrators smile in their face,
With only a single digit conviction rate it adds even more to the disgrace.

Article 60 of the UCMJ allows high-ranking officers to lessen or eliminate,
A guilty verdict so favoritism to the guilty party now seals the victims fate,
3-Star General Craig Franklin overturned one such guilty verdict in Italy,
Lieutenant-Colonel James Wilkerson released & put back on active duty.

Aggravated sexual assault involving a civilian employee at a NATO air base,
Adding insult to injury General Franklin did not even participate in the case,
Giving no explanation for overturning the conviction and one year jail time,
Article 60 also precludes the possibility of any appeal so there was no crime.

Advocates, American Civil Liberties Union have repeatedly sounded the alarm,
Not about the good Drones can do but they are concerned about possible harm,
Is invasion of privacy more important than safety and security of innocent ones?
Especially where the deadly destruction and mayhem has already been done?

Well, talk to the families of the dead and those whose limbs were blown to bits,
And do not forget the thousands where Military Injustice has silenced their lips,
If, 'Little Brother' was doing the job, 'Big Brother' wouldn't need to intervene,
So as to rightfully wipe away the victims tears & comfort the innocent screams.
