Bouvet Island Poem by C.Ann Penning

Bouvet Island

An icy dismal mountain
Battered by Antarctic swells
Desolate or so it seems

Macaroni social clubs
Banter fasting Mirounga
With trays of deep water squid

Under the dawns fire and ice
In a crystal blue lagoon
Angelic songs grant music

Fiery long waves adorn
Deeply laughing emerald jewels
Swept behind small faint freckles

Subtle ruby dew kissed lips
Painted upon ivory skin
Exudes a yearning for love

The stunning Bouvet princess
Dreaming of her handsome guard
Doomed to love him from afar

Floating in azure ripples
Beating iced raspberry banks
An old tattered lifeboat waits
