Boy Scout Poem by Jon Edward Walker

Boy Scout

I went grocery shopping and offered the use of
my preferred shopper card
to the old man in front of me who forgot his.
I drove my friend to work,
he would've been late.
I let a homeless girl with kid, dog and cat
stay here last night even though
I’m allergic to them.
I pushed with my hands
then pulled with my car
a broke woman
broken down in
downtown traffic
then told her how to fix her car;
I’m a fuckin’ boy scout.
