And reality stared at me
When Jesus nabbed me
Like a petty thief
In my reckless dash
To dine with the devil
Sans long cutlery
The life I live now
Beyond a second chance
Isn't mine
But a gilded gift
Undeserved
Offered me on a gold platter
By the affectionate Saviour
That snatched me from a pit
Deserved
Romancing the devil
On whose highway I cruised
Stiff-necked in foolishness
To his palace of fire
A reserved hot home
Eternal
For the damned
As I was
But now I am saved.
