Break In Play Poem by Ima Ryma

Break In Play

A tennis racket, ball and net
Have a chance to relax a bit.
There is a break from set to set,
A brief respite from getting hit.
The three do chat about the play
That has been going on so far.
'Been back and forth, ' the net does say,
'The change of leads has been bizarre.'
'Yes, I agree, ' replies the ball.
The racket also does agree,
'The winner will be a close call.'
The break's now over for the three.

Best wishes 'twixt and 'tween each one,
As play resumes at Wimbledon.
