'' Brexit '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Brexit ''

I'm elected to rule,
To make major decisions,
I do everything on your behalf,
No, I'm not a fool,
I do make revisions,
Then you say, I'm having a laugh.

My job is hard,
Trying to please all,
You love giving me a hard time,
Leaving me scarred,
Really does appal,
I feel like, I've committed a crime.

I am educated,
My standards are high,
Failures are not on my list,
My successes, underrated,
Yet that you deny,
You claim they do not exist.

You say, name one?
Though I try my best,
Nothing I've achieved springs to mind,
When all's said and done,
With fantasy I'm blessed,
To reality I'm totally blind.

We gave you a voice,
We thought we'd win,
We'd remain within the E.U.
You made the choice,
Disbelieving our spin,
You then took the opposite view.

I'm, Theresa May,
You're giving me stress,
On my deal we could not agree,
We were leaving today,
But they're saying it's a mess,
I don't think we'll ever be free.

Two years for a deal,
Is not very long,
Regardless of how hard I've tried,
You lot, get real,
It's you who are wrong,
You're the reason my deal has died.

I'll get an extension,
A false delay,
I know this will bring you to tears,
My aim is retention,
To get us to stay,
Confirming your very worst tears.

I'm not being uncouth,
Nor do I deceive,
My aim is to ensure our exit,
Though the honest truth,
May well make you grieve,
I Do Not Believe In,
