Brick Sound Poem by Moth Harris

Brick Sound

Can you hear the beat to the sound
Lift you from your head off the ground
Not a life a brick can’t take away
As long as fortune for greed is found

Well, well there’s nothing left here
Oh dear, oh dear, It’s out worst fear
That the boss man is pissed
Gonna kill this so called career

Life goes on and you live
A brick to you my gift
Now I’m not trying to break you down
There’s too many others on my list

Oh my, oh my why do we lie
When we know the sad girls gonna cry
To die, to die with this music
All in the back of my mind

Your tears are dry like sludge
I don’t see why you hold this grudge
When it all comes back to you
But who am I to judge

Now I could go on and on
Doesn’t make it any less wrong
I’m still holding the brick in my hand
Long after you’re gone

Using your feet to walk down the street
As always is your retreat
Why are you running away
Is it bound to repeat

Can you hear the beat to the sound
Lift you from your head off of the ground
Not a day goes by without these questions
but the answers are no where to be found
