The heavens are bright and cloudless,
The sky is a pale powder blue,
There’s a wonderful pink glow below it,
As the sun settles down right on cue.
It leaves us at one with the heavens,
A feeling of deepest content,
The promise of sunshine tomorrow,
And the knowledge that life’s, heaven sent.
I look at the scene with delight now,
As the scent of the roses wafts by,
Picked up by the breeze as it passes,
And carries it up to the sky.
I hear now the song of the blackbird,
His final encore for the day,
It somehow makes me feel happy,
And I watch as he goes on his way.
