Bright Green Glass Poem by Jet Burns

Bright Green Glass

When Death is near and drawing off sweet Light,
then breathe incense entombed in balm-tongued air
that weaves a Flame to ward away despair;
you have the singing consolation bright!
with Everything in sight as Golden Dight!
you then partake of All: the greater share,
compared to jealous wand'ring heightens to bare
inward Emotion! Powerful in Might,
appearing lock'd away within the breast,
to seem as lost as traitor Judas dead;
though Joy as this does live: Forever Blessed!
in gleaming Light half-seen beyond the lead
of dreary clouds and lees bereft of zest
till panes of Green and Sun enclose one's head!
