Brimsong Soul Melting Poem by Diana van den Berg

Brimsong Soul Melting

You wrap me
in your castle arms,
and your wide-sky love,

and your whisper-perfect gifts
carry me on butterfly-breath,
to the edge of the forever-forest
where you softly place your beating heart
wrapped in rainbows and flowers
and your tingling smile-fingers,
in my eager hands

and I offer you mine
raw, red and unwrapped
and you entreat birds to break into song
to bless the moment,
and your eyes drown in mine
as you stroke me with your words
in the midday sun
and I can no longer tell
where your soul ends
and mine begins.
