Bring Forth The Swarthy Man Poem by Raymond Farrell

Bring Forth The Swarthy Man

Bring forth the swarthy man
with the glistening skin
brown, tanned and oiled
broad chested and shirtless
exposing hard rippling pectorals
and heavy mountainous shoulders
great biceps bulging
and overdeveloped triceps
forearms wide and thick
and hands clenched
into rock hard fists
flexing his muscles all at once
bring hither the leg irons
and clamp them on him
and weld the chain
onto the block of vanity
to which he is enslaved
let him so remain
until atrophy has turned his pride
to sagging flesh and wrinkled hanging skin
then, and only then
will he be able to slip free
of these fetters
that have ensnared him.
