Broken Poem by Thistle Wargul

Broken

Something, nothing,
Anything, everything.
Hearing, feeling,
Seeing, believing.
Guilty, innocent,
Naive, forgiven.
I once was strong,
But now am broken.

What good is a conscience
If you do not listen?
What good are words
If you do not mean them?
Why make a promise
If you cannot keep it?
I once was strong,
But now am broken.

Have you ever lied
So much you believed?
Do you ever hurt
So much you bleed?
Can you ever shun
So much you cease to exist?
I once was strong,
But now am broken.

Have you ever felt the anger,
The pain and the hurt?
Do you feel the words,
Making your insides burn?
Can you bear to let,
The truth go unspoken?
I once was strong,
But now am broken.

Why do you just
Sit and stare?
Pretending that
You don’t care?
Let the injustice
Go unspoken?
I once was strong,
But now am broken.

Broken by the stormy lies.
Broken by the burning hate.
Broken by the pain unspoken.
Broken by the promise broken.

Broken before
I found the strength,
To stand my ground
On my own.
Broken no longer,
And never again.

I once was strong,
And now am stronger!
