Broken Attempt Poem by Yehia A.Zakaria

Broken Attempt

You try to reach out, to break through her wall,
To show her your feelings, to catch her if she falls.
You hope that she'll see, that you're not here to judge at all,
She's just hiding the signs of the pain she's felt before,
You wish you could help her, to heal and restore.
You wonder what happened, what made her this way,
Why she's so wounded, why her heart is locked away?
Why she's dying inside, why she can't let passion stay?
You're starting to lose hope, with nothing left to say.
You try to be patient, and to show her you care,
That you'll never let her go, that you'll always be there.
You try to deeply understand, what she's going through,
To put yourself in her shoes, to see things from her view.
You keep trying to get her out of her shell,
To help her be free, to make her feel well,
But her mind remains distant, her emotions so far,
And you're left feeling empty, with a non-healing scar.
