The fragments of a broken mug
The glint of a knife
The peices of her broken dreams
The terror of her life
The bruises no one ever sees
From punches, hits and kicks
No one ever thought
That she'd end up like this
A few years ago she was bubbly
Popular and fun
But now all she knows how to do
Is scream, hide and run
A life pulled to pieces
A person scared in pain
Because her partner treats her bad
And she is far to tame
She can't escape his anger
For that only brings on more
She has to stay, she's trapped
Can't just walk out the door
If only others knew
What she goes through every day
Then she wouldn't have to suffer
And he'd just go away
How many others are there like her
Behind closed doors
Maybe we should find out
And help them pick their
lives up off the floor

Boy this is realy true. I love the sentiment. The poem, however, is rather broken in places and is not too smoothe. This makes it a difficult read and it loses some of its appeal because of it. I can't recommend it for that reason. It can be fixed and I'm sure it will be. As I said, I sure do love this message and it was clear, so it does get through. That's really the important thing. GW62
