Do You Know What I See - Poem by carli neave

When I look in the mirror,
Do you know what I see?
I see an empty shell,
That use to be me.

When I am speaking,
Do you know what I hear?
I hear so much saddness,
And even more fear.

When I search my soul,
Do you know what I find?
I find so much damage,
That has been left behind.

When I reach for my heart,
Do you know what's there?
So many broken peices,
And so much despair.

When I look at you,
Do you know what I see?
I see the man I love,
Who will never love me.
