Broken Promises Poem by Felix Otiende

Broken Promises

Broken Promises

Today am sitting under the mango tree,
Thinking of yesterday's words,
The world of fantasy,

I believed in everything you said,
Loved and danced your tuned,
Played your favourite music,

Was I not good enough?
You didn't picture me in your future,
That's why you stopped the music,

Your fantasy is killing me slowly,
Holding your son on my arms,
You promised never to leave us,

Now what? Nothing but agony,
I knew the pregnancy was our knot,
You played your cards well.
