Broken Record (The Words You Only Thought) Poem by Amanda Larsen

Broken Record (The Words You Only Thought)

Silently disagreing
But refusing to speak your thoughts
You claim they're not importand
You fear they wont be heard
Your hands into fists
You swallow the bitter ideas
The answers are playing in your mind
like a broken record
like a drowned out sound
You are small
Unimportand
They'd never listen anyway
You close your ears and let them say
Block out the broken records play
The answers you would never dare to outer
let them slip away...
And it's too late to spit out rage
Their point is made, the subject changed
So you keep quiet like a rock
Ignore the broken records mock
A playlist of the words you thought
The words nobody would have bought
Convince yourself there was no point
Complete and total waste of sweat
Then why
are you now chocking in regret?
