Broken Wings Poem by jewel Alberter

Broken Wings

I have hopes and dreams that's lived and died inside.
I live each day and take what this life brings.
I want to fly, to soar high above the mountains.
I want to fly but I have broken wings.
Still I can close my eyes and visualize that I have freedom.
That's my world and in my world all dreams come true.
But somewhere, somehow, sometime in some tomorrow,
I'll awake and find that I'm the same old you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Partial poem written in August 2012. My reason for writing ' broken wings' came from my desire to accomplish many things, but it seamed like there was always something holding me back I found that I could always close my eyes and visualize a life that was beautiful and I had the freedom to be and do all things.
Of course reality brought me back to earth and I was once again the same old me. I hope to finish the song.
