Brotha Brotha Poem by S Langley

Brotha Brotha

Rating: 5.0

Brotha, brotha why you treat me so bad?
Didn't you say I'm best thing that you've ever had?
Why then don't you wine me, dine me, and shine me?
Why you so busy looking behind me?
You say you're not insecure, and I say I can't tell,
Every time something comes up, you just cuss and you yell.
I can't do anything right, and I won't even start about what I have to say
Because no matter what I come with, you take it the wrong way.

Brotha, brotha why is it that you don't like me no more?
You lie to me about everything, and have closed every door.
You use to call me 'baby', but now you call me 'bitch',
'witch', 'snitch' and told me to go suck a dick!
What's wrong with you man? I love you more than most,
But you treat me like garbage then afterwards boast.

Brotha, brotha what happened to you and me?
I've got this on lock, but you've broken the key.
Where did we go wrong, and why can't we seem to get it back?
It's definitely not physical, but it's definitely whack!
There is no communication, and God knows there is no trust,
What we have is a sunken ship filled with nothing but lust.
Brotha, brotha will you please treat me right?

Wake me with kisses in the morning, and caress my body all night.
Buy me a drink, take me out to dinner.
Make me feel like a woman again.
Do whatever it takes, to show that you're a real man.
Stop acting right when other men come around,
Then as soon as they leave start being a clown.
Look me in my eyes, and see I'm not a child,
Stop trying to control me, stop foolin' around.

Brotha, brotha please let me come back into your heart,
Stop lying and grinning because it's torn us apart.
Open the door for God, and let Him come back in,
And I guarantee you that we'll start to win.
Let your words be few and seasoned with grace,
Stop slowing us down and help win the race.
All the people who have seen you treat me really bad,
Turn it around and show them I'm the best that you've had.

Brotha, brotha I know we can get it all back,
Love, trust, communication and whatever else we lack.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life,
He can move all the anger, resentment and strife.
He can renew, and He will fix everything
He will even give you favor once you put on that ring.
But brotha, brotha you have to want it that bad
If you wanna keep the best thing that you've ever had.
