Bubble Bath - Poem by Caroline Guedes

I've run a bath but the water's too hot
and it burns my skin
But I lie in there regardless, hoping
it'll melt my pain within
So many visions float to my head
I cannot achieve bliss in this tub
The bubbles seem to cover my imperfections
They are aware I'm afraid of love
And in this small abode I feel no shame
in crying as I grieve my loss
No shame in my beautiful drowning
my limbs will bloat, my body will rot
Everything is quiet, at peace except
My repetitious hectic mind
No cell can contain these scars because,
Like I, they will diminish in time
I've been hollowed. I have to succumb
To perfumed dreams and laugh
Nothing seems to change. Nothing halts
this tear-filled bubble bath

Caroline! I entered in as tis one of my favourite places.. except this is not what I was expecting at all... yes I felt every burst of pop against epidermic abrasions... great portrayal of the scolding of a mind, heart and a bath! and yes sometimes we can be just a BUB BLEeding out... if all else fails... try farting through them.. brings instant smiles... if that does work.. maybe tis time to throw the toaster in....
