Buckets Of Snow Poem by Marilyn Lott

Buckets Of Snow

The snow came down in buckets
Measured in yards instead of feet
Days and days it fell steadily
After while it was not a treat

The children didn’t worry though
About going to school right then
And in some places it’s typical
While in others it’s not a trend

Snow sculptures were everywhere
White on white was the scheme
Nature seemed to play a joke
With its freezing white-out theme

Electricity was out wherever I went
Power lines were simply crippled
Stopped still and frozen in time
Emergencies nearly tripled

Winter was here – oh yes it was
And it looked like it’d stay forever
There seemed to be no relieve in sight
Mother Nature acting so clever

But, we’ll dig our way out soon I hope
And time will pass without fail
But we sure are waiting patiently
For spring time to unveil!

You tell the tale of being snowed-in so well
