Buddha Took Alara Kalama As His Guide Poem by Mohammad Younus

Buddha took Alara Kalama as his guide
Socrates took Prodikos as his guide
Aristotle and Plato both took Socrates...
...as their guide;
Confucius took Lao Tzu as his guide;
Moses took Shuaib, the shepherd, as his guide;
Jesus took Yaḥyā ibn Zakariyā as his guide;
Arjuna took Krishna as his guru and guide;
But in historical chronicles...
...I have found no mention of any guide...
...of the prophet;
Allah was his teacher, as the Qur'an says:

'And Allah has revealed to you (O Muhammad) ...
...the Book and wisdom...
...and has taught you that which you did not know.'
So I take Muhammad as my Guide, Guru and Master;
Would that I proved to be a good student!
