Budding Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Budding

Budding

I was once part of bud
As you were; all of us
Unaware of scars
(Being leaf's or other's)
Under the ovary roof
We were parts in ovules
Meristem fed us food
Totally unaware
Terminal we became
(In the bud)
Bud scales, lateral
Lenticel, internode

Limited to our house
We held hands, slept tight
It was joy; it was fun
Shame on time

Time came in
Brought warmth
Breeze kissed and wind shook
We turned to flowers
Then grew our petals
We had joy in our shell
Not knowing that growth
Is the end and means death.

After heat
After breeze
After growth and dancing with the wind
We fell down
We swear and curse now
"Where are we? "
With hatred and no love
Entangled, we are filled

What a shame
Can I be bud again?
