Bugs. Poem by bethany jeffreys

Bugs.

Bugs.

I strongly dislike bugs.
They are creepy and crawly,
And then there’s a slug.
I am scared of butterflies,
Crickets and their jumpiness.
Spiders make me cry.
Scorpions and their clinchers.
Bees make me want to die.
Worms and their sliminess.
Stink bugs don’t want to say good bye.
I am frightened by all these creatures,
But some have extravagant features.
Those powdery moths,
Some have incredible coats of cloth.
The lengthy walking stick,
Are so elegant and slick.
Should I stop there?
No, that’s not fair.
There are these worms that can glow,
They are gorgeous, Whoa!
So you have to stop and see the way things shine,
Look within and see they are very kind.
God put everything here for a reason. Even our fears,
Look beyond the appearance,
Don’t let them feel as if they disappeared.
